ABOUT ME...

I was born in a small town in the outskirts of Mexico City. I graduated from UNK with endorsements in Elementary and Spanish Education. I have a master in Spanish and a second master in Instructional Technology, both from UNK.

I have been happily married to Steve for 32 years. He is the COO of American Shizuki Corporation. We have two children Steven and Melissa. Steven is a financial analyst for Baldwin Filters in Kearney. He is married to Anne. Anne is a stay at home mom with our beautiful granddaughters Isabella Rose and Emma Grace. Our daughter, Melissa is a Pediatrician at Children’s Hospital in Milwaukee, her husband Dan is in his third year of his Dermatology Internship in Milwaukee; they also have a beautiful daughter, Cora. We also have a beautiful five-year old white lab named Santana. Since we don’t have any children at home, he is our baby.

This is my 19th year in the Ogallala Public Schools, the first ten years in the system I taught elementary Spanish and at the HS I taught Spanish I for about five years and then the next five years I taught Spanish IV. I have been teaching full time in the HS for nine years, and I love it!

I enjoy the idea of teaching my native language and having the opportunity to share my native culture with my students.  I like finding different ways to make the language learning experience more meaningful; in my class, you will see a variety of teaching methods to reach the various learning styles my students possess.  This year as every other year, I believe that we will have a very productive and exciting year. Thanks for sharing your school year with me!

During the school year I am mostly occupied with school activities, I like to create activities that fit my students and what they are learning at specific times. My hobbies are fishing, reading, landscaping and learning. In my opinion learning opens the doors to your mind. The more knowledge you have, the richer you are.
